Careers and Such
I started off in radio. Ended up writing a lot of the commercial spots, PSAs and stuff.
Parlayed that into a Director of Marketing position for a publishing company just outside Boston that has since been purchased by Warren Buffet. (He buys everything)
Anyhow, started having babies and by the time I got to three (out of the current 5), I realized I was really just working to put my daycare provider’s children through college, so I decided to stay home.
Helped the hubs open our own HVAC business, and I pretty much did all the administrative and marketing for our company from home while he did all the manual labor stuff. Had another baby.
Relocated South. Had another baby. Son (baby #4) was diagnosed with Autism. Economy took a nose dive. Hubs went to work for someone else. I stayed home to work with my son (ABA, FloorTime, BioMed treatments)
My son progressed fabulously and started school on time with his peers, however his treatments cost mega bucks, so put youngest in day care and returned to job force in current position as Queen of Everything Adminsitrative Assistant at a combined Middle & High School.
It’s not a career. It’s a job. But I’m glad I have one.
